Asphalt - what's around the corner? which takes place in Nottingham on 20 March, will focus on forthcoming developments and issues for the use of asphalt to meet ever increasing demands for performance, value and sustainability.
Planning and preparation are key to successful delivery and performance so it's important to keep abreast of what's on the horizon. The SCI's Construction Materials Group and the Nottingham Asphalt Research Consortium (NARC) have joined forces to organise this event to provide an insight into near market developments, current research programmes and issues likely to affect policy and practice in the operation of asphalt roads in the near future.
The day will include presentations from representatives of highway authority clients, material suppliers and academics actively engaged in research and its application to give a wide perspective on both the opportunities and the challenges around the corner for the design, production, placing and maintenance of asphalt on the highway network.
The theme of the event has been selected to draw together those in commercial practice and those actively engaged in scientific development within the asphalt industry to promote discussion and sharing of knowledge, thoughts and ideas. The day will be of special interest to those who specialise in asphalt technology through research, development and commercial practice, including highway and port authorities, engineering consultants, university engineering departments, asphalt suppliers and contractors.
