We are delighted to announce that the first phase of the IT upgrades will be available next week.
SCI is undergoing a major upgrade of its IT infrastructure. We are working on two systems upgrades – the first being the introduction of a new CRM (Customer Relationship Management system). The new CRM will enable us to better manage data and to provide more information to SCI Committees and Groups.
The second system being upgraded is the SCI website. The new SCI website is being introduced in two phases, with Phase 1 going live imminently.
Phase 1 will bring improvements to all of the following
- Registration processes
The events and membership processes have been streamlined to significantly reduce the number of steps required. This means that the registration processes will be much simpler and quicker to complete.
- Events listings page
The events pages in the current website are being upgraded to enable more SCI events to be showcased and to make it much easier to find events.
- Membership page
The membership page on the website is being upgraded and simplified, making it much easier to become a member and to learn about the different benefits and types of membership.
- Members’ portal
We are upgrading the members portal so that SCI members can keep track of their membership, upcoming events diary, awards and more. This portal will see additional functionality added over the coming weeks.
- Event delegates portal
A new Event Members portal is being launched, where delegates attending SCI Events can sign on and manage their events online.
These new sections of the website will temporarily sit within the current website and they will be launched at the same time as our new CRM is launched. Together, they will offer improved and more user-friendly functionality, while also presenting content in a much sleeker, more modern design.
During the upgrade, please be advised there will be a short period of time when the event and membership sections of the website will be unavailable as the upgrades are being implemented. This period is likely to be 24-48 hours, and this is scheduled to happen within the next 7-10 days.
The other pages on the website will function as normal. We will be placing notices on the website over the next two weeks to advise you on the status of the upgrades.
We are also upgrading our technical infrastructure during this migration, which may mean that links to the SCI website that you have currently saved may not work for up to 48 hours while the upgrades are being implemented. If this happens, please bear with us and try again later.
Phase 2 : Launch of the new website
Our new website will be launched in February 2019. The new website will offer an improved design and user experience (ease of finding information) and it will be mobile optimised. Additional features will be introduced and we will advise you of these nearer the time.
