25 trailblazing innovators from the UK will launch new innovations and products at this week’s 2-day global showcase event in Manchester. This year’s Innovate event will showcase the strength of UK technology innovation.
Innovate UK Chief Executive Ruth McKernan said, ‘The Innovate 2016 event is an important opportunity for Innovate UK to partner with the Department for International Trade, bringing UK innovation into the global spotlight and showcasing the excellent innovation developments around the UK. This year sees an increase in the number of companies launching new products at the event. It is important for Innovate UK to support the showcasing of companies’ achievements, helping to raise visibility of their brand and demonstrating the impact that results from our support.’

Other events at Innovate 2016 include the launch of a new UK network for Immersive Technologies, ImmerseUK. This will look at how augmented and virtual reality can help increase productivity and economic growth in the UK. Also there will be an introduction to the companies attending the forthcoming Connected Cities Mission to India.
The Department for International Tradeand Innovate UK host this annual event. It takes place at the Manchester Central Convention Complex from 2 to 3 November. Day 1 will explore business opportunities across the latest developments in manufacturing and materials. It will also focus on the new challenges and opportunities of growing urbanisation. Day 2 will look at how new technologies are revolutionising healthcare and biosciences. There will also be a focus on the technologies that have the potential to create brand new industries.
