SCI's Board of Trustees together with its Standing Committees are there to ensure that SCI is a vibrant, membership organisation, which serves the interests of members through its publications, lectures and meetings. SCI also seeks to engage with academia and the chemistry-using industries so we can contribute to tackling a range of national and global challenges.
SCI Members are encouraged to put themselves forward for election as trustees or standing committee members and offer their experience and ideas in shaping future direction. Getting involved also gives the opportunity to acquire experience of charity governance and to forge relationships with peers from a wide range of backgrounds while working towards common goals.
SCI is now calling for nominations for the roles of Ordinary Members of the Board of Trustees. Nominations are also being called for the Chairmen of FIAC and PAC and for Ordinary Members in the three Standing Committees: Membership Affairs (MAC), Publications (PAC) and Finance and Investments (FIAC).
We would also like to remind you of the following co-optee places on all the committees, which can be taken up at any time (not necessarily at the AGM) with the committee's approval and support: two places on BoT, four places on FIAC, three places on MAC and three places on PAC. Co-option offers you an excellent opportunity to experience being part of a committee.
If you are interested in contributing to the development of SCI, or you know someone who could be a potential candidate, please access the simplified self-nomination form via the link below. Completed applications must be submitted by 11 April 2014.
