Analytical Chemistry events
Analytical chemistry is one of the most important aspects of industrial chemistry, improving both quality control and process understanding. The ability to measure quickly and accurately allows efficient, cost effective, and sustainable processes to be established and upgraded, benefiting academic and industrial work.
SCI is pleased to announce two upcoming events that focus on this crucial area.
Process Analytics 2016
On 7 Nov 2016, the East Anglia Region of the RSC Analytical Division will host a one-day meeting on Process Analytics at Johnson Matthey Catalysts Conference Centre in Royston, Hertfordshire. This meeting will bring together process analytics suppliers and users to learn about and discuss new process measurement solutions and challenges.
Speakers will include Julian Morris, Emeritus Professor of Process Control at Newcastle University, and Dr John Andrews, Managing Director of Clairet Scientific. The event will also provide networking opportunities to generate new partnerships. Further details can be found at www.rsc.org/events/detail/23137/process-analytics.
The Importance and Power of Analytical Chemistry in Industry
On 7 Feb 2017, SCI’s Young Chemists’ Panel, in collaboration with Syngenta, will hold a one-day conference at Jealott's Hill International Research Centre to cover the fundamentals of analytical chemistry in an industrial setting as well as discussing some of the latest advances in the field. The programme is aimed at both undergraduates and recent graduates working in the chemical sciences and will be of relevance to anyone working within chemical sciences in industry or academia who is looking to expand their understanding of the analytical techniques used across industrial sectors.
There will be speakers from a range of disciplines, including space science, environmental chemistry, pharmacology, and general analytical science. Paul Ferguson, President of the Chromatography Society, will speak, as well as Ian Wright, who was involved in the Rosetta comet mission. The event will be hosted by Syngenta representatives.
SCI Members can claim CPD points for attending this conference.
