Robert Horne Memorial Lecture

Established 1943

Viscount Horne of Slamannan was a staunch supporter of SCI for many years. A lecture was endowed in his name in 1943 by one of his industrial interests, the Imperial Smelting Corporation of which he was the first Chair.
Focusing on the materials sector, the lecture is traditionally given in either a Bristol or a South Wales venue in the UK.

Nominations

Nominations for the Robert Horne Memorial Lecture are made by either the Bristol and South West or South Wales Regional Groups. The recipient is selected by the Bristol and South West Group and the SCI Awards Committee.

Lecture Details

The winner will be expected to give a lecture at an event held by either the Bristol and South West or South Wales Regional Group and will be presented with a certificate.

George Bessey Award
