Synopsis
The All Ireland group was established during 2009 when the former Republic of Ireland International Group and the Northern Ireland Regional Group merged. Our events commonly address topics key to the Irish economy, with food, agriculture, materials and pharmaceuticals featuring prominently. They are frequently organised jointly with other SCI Technical Interest Groups, either in person, online, or in hybrid formats.
In 2026, the Committee is looking to fill the roles of Chair, Treasurer, and Ordinary Committee Member(s). The main responsibilities of these roles are:
- Chair: Schedules and facilitates committee meetings in order to plan and deliver the Group’s programme of events; liaison with SCI Headquarters, other SCI Regional and Technical Interest Groups, and external collaborators (e.g. Institute of Chemistry in Ireland, Royal Society of Chemistry)
- Treasurer: Planning and budgeting for Group events and committee meetings, typically on a rolling three-year cycle, in conjunction with SCI Committee Support and Membership office. Payments are managed centrally by SCI HQ.
- Committee Members: Having an interest in applied chemistry and related sciences, help propose, plan and run Group events and meetings. Expertise in managing social media to promote Group events and engage with members online, would be very welcome.
