Synopsis

Lecture by Professor R. Mangabhai

The lecture will cover the following areas:

  • Modern cement and concrete technologies are increasingly designed to be economic, sustainable, and aligned with global zero carbon goals.
  • Current production processes use minimal energy, reduce waste, and optimise resource use. In addition, the transport and distribution systems are well established and efficient, ensuring that the supply chain works well.
  • As biobased materials become more prominent, the industry is committed to ensuring that robust, acceptable standards are developed and met.

Books written or edited by Professor Mangabhai may be made available for purchase.

This lecture will follow the Construction Materials 2026 AGM and attendees are welcome to join.
