Synopsis
The NextGen formulation researchers’ symposium is dedicated to supporting the next generation of scientists and innovators. Organised by SCI’s Formulation forum early careers group, the symposium provides a platform for early-career researchers to explore emerging scientific developments, connect with peers and engage with professionals from both academia and industry.

The event offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into diverse career pathways, learn from leading researchers and industry experts and expand professional networks. Through invited keynote talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities, participants will be encouraged to exchange ideas, foster collaborations, and develop a broader understanding of the formulation sciences.
 

Attendees
This event is aimed at early-career researchers, including PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, early-career industry scientists and others with an interest in formulation science. It will be particularly beneficial for those seeking to expand their networks, explore career opportunities, and engage with both academic and industrial perspectives.

Call for posters
Opportunities are available for a limited number of posters. Interested applicants should send an abstract of maximum one A4 page or 300 words, indicating title and authors to conferences@soci.org by Friday 21 May 2027 with the subject line “NextGen – poster submission”. An abstract template can be downloaded.

Applicants who also wish to be considered for a 3-minute thesis talk should use the subject line “NextGen – poster/thesis talk submission”.


Accessibility Grants

SCI accessibility grants are available to support SCI members with disabilities, long term health conditions, those who require a carer, and members who are nursing parents to attend SCI events. Download an application form to apply for a grant.
