Synopsis

Precision Agriculture is seen as a key component in improving productivity. UK Government committed £160m to the Agri-Tech Strategy and as part of this invested £90m into the Centres for Agricultural Innovation, which will focus on Precision Agriculture approaches driving productivity and competitiveness of the UK Agri-Tech sector.

This visit will give delegates an opportunity to see the facilities at Cranfield University enabling Precision Agriculture approaches, including the facilities of 2 Agri-Tech Centres, CHAP and AgriEPI, and the Centre for Environmental and Agricultural Informatics. The visit will also enable participants to meet with researchers working on Precision Agriculture projects. Some emphasis will be on variable rate spraying and disease control in wheat crops.

This will be an ideal opportunity to meet others and generate connections and partnerships and will be of interest to the following groups of people:

  • Members of all parts of the food supply system, for example, those involved in agriculture, crop protection, machinery, and those starting out in research careers in chemistry, agriculture and engineering.
