National undergraduate industrial placement showcase 2022

Organised by:

SCI’s Young Chemists Panel

Alderley Park Conference Centre, UK

Registration Closed

This event is no longer available for registration.

Synopsis

This event is aimed at undergraduate students currently undertaking industrial research placements. Those working in organic, biological, supramolecular, physical organic or medicinal chemistry and related fields are encouraged to apply. The event presents an excellent opportunity for chemistry industrial placement students to present their work to a national audience, and to learn about what their peers in other companies are working on.

This year’s event will be a half-day symposium including talks and a poster session.  A selection of submissions will be invited to give a 10-minute presentation of their work at the symposium.  Prizes will be awarded for the best talks and posters.  There will also be a talk from a keynote speaker working in Industry.

Attendees

This event is aimed at undergraduate chemistry students, either currently undertaking a placement or planning to in future, and will also be of interest to industrial chemists.

Call for abstracts

Any student currently on placement in the UK, or those on placement abroad who attend a UK university are invited to submit an abstract. The abstract should be a maximum of 150 words and can include one supporting scheme. Students must have approval from their industrial supervisor before submitting an abstract. The closing date for abstracts is Friday 15 April. A selection of abstracts will be picked to present a talk at the showcase. Students will be notified whether they have been selected for a talk or poster by Friday 22 April.

Please submit applications here
