Now the election that really matters!

5 Jun 2015

The details of candidates for the Chair of BoT and the Trustee vacancies have been mailed to SCI members together with the voting papers, so this is my last message in this series. If you have not received your voting papers, please email membership@soci.org.

There are some 2000 SCI members who are eligible to vote and please can I urge all my fellow members to consider the candidate information and exercise your choice. Being a trustee and especially chairing the Board of Trustees is not a trivial undertaking and I think it is very important for all of us as members to participate in electing those who will control the affairs of the Society so as to give them proper authority.  Some candidates will be known to members on a personal basis, while for others we may have to rely on the candidate statements. Choosing the right people to be in control of SCI on our behalf will be critical to the Society's future of and the direction it needs to take. Accordingly, please can I ask that we all participate by carefully considering who we want to elect and of course by voting.

I will vote by post, just in case of what Harold MacMillan called ‘events’, although I certainly intend to be at the AGM and look forward to meeting many of you on the day. Above all, please use your vote.

If you are planning to vote in person at the AGM, please register via the link below.
