Young Chemist in Industry 2016

16 Jun 2016

SCI is pleased to announce that registration is now open for Young Chemist in Industry 2016. The event will take place at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Abingdon, Oxfordshire on Thursday 10 November 2016.

Following the success of previous meetings, this year’s event promises to be of interest to chemists working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or agrochemical sector. Delegates will be able to discover what their contemporaries do in other branches of the industry and network with them to build a better understanding of their work and the challenges they face.

The event offers early career chemists the opportunity to showcase their industrial research to an external audience, with prizes being awarded for the best talk and runners-up. Natalie-Theodoulou (pictured right) won first prize last year for her talk on: The development of I-BRD9, a cell active selective chemical probe for Bromodomain Containing Protein 9. This year, there will be speakers from a rage of organizations including Sygnature Discovery, Mexichem, GlaxoSmithKline, RedX Oncology and AstraZeneca, with the plenary lecture being delivered by Joanne Pinder from Vertex.

The event is free, but as places are limited so we encourage early booking to guarantee your place. You can register via the link below.
