SCI Travel Bursaries

SCI Travel bursaries provide postgraduate students the opportunity to attend conferences or laboratory visits for activities related to chemical science (including all life sciences), Agrisciences, engineering and technology. Funding will not be given for visits which are part of the normal course of a co-sponsored PhD (e.g. visiting the partner site).

Applications

Applications can be submitted by completing the online application form via the link, when applications open. Applications will only be considered from SCI student or standard members - SCI travel bursaries are not available to SCI e-members or non-members.

Applicants must be presenting a paper/poster if attending a conference. Preference will normally be given to those wishing to travel outside their country of residence, especially if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad.

Presentation Details

The awards consists of a travel bursary supporting the attendance at a meeting or conference related to the field. Funding will not be given for visits which are part of the normal course of a co-sponsored PhD (e.g. visiting the partner site).

Rideal Travel Bursaries offered by the Sir Eric Rideal Trust are offered twice per year to promising academic research workers in the general field of colloid and surface science, to attend international conferences or to visit relevant research institutions for a study visit.

The award is intended as a travel grant for students and early career researchers with up to ten years postdoctoral experience to attend an important international meeting for the advancement of fullerene and related science such as the functionalisation of carbon materials including carbon nanotubes and graphene.

SCI Seligman APV Travel Bursary

The SCI Seligman APV Travel Bursary is designed to support the career development of PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and industrial researchers, by helping them to broaden their vision and share cutting-edge knowledge at international conferences or laboratory visits.
