Tahmidul Islam Aquib was awarded a Rideal Travel Bursary to attend the 39th ECIS UK Colloids Conference, held in the UK, in September 2025. Here he tells us about his highlights from the conference.
"I was delighted to present a poster showcasing the latest results from my PhD project, which allowed me to share my work and receive valuable feedback from experts in the field.
"Beyond presenting, I had the great pleasure of meeting and interacting with scientists, researchers, and professors who are leading figures in colloid and interface science. Through these conversations, I gained fresh insights into research progress, career development, goal setting, and broader perspectives on the future of our field.
"Just being in the presence of so many remarkable personalities was surreal and deeply inspiring. It reminded me of the value of academic exchange, collaboration, and community in driving science forward.
"I am truly grateful to have had this opportunity, and I look forward to applying the knowledge and inspiration I have gained to my own research journey."
