Venue: University of Nottingham, UK
Date: Wednesday 6 June 2018
As the population continues to increase, science, industry and government must constantly collaborate to ensure our infrastructure remains robust as demand grows – in a sustainable and economical way.
That is why SCI’s Construction Materials Group and the NARC have combined to organise this one-day conference, ‘The Road Ahead’, focusing on forthcoming developments and issues for the use of asphalt.
This event will provide an insight into near-market developments, current research programmes, and issues likely to affect policy and practice in the operation of asphalt roads in the near future.
The day will include presentations from representatives of highway authority clients, material suppliers and academics actively engaged in both research and its application, to give a wide perspective on both the opportunities and the challenges around the corner for the design, production, placing and maintenance of asphalt on the highway network.
The event will be of particular interest to specialists in asphalt technology, development and commercial practice, such as highway and port authorities, engineering consultants, university engineering departments, asphalt suppliers and contractors.
The full programme will be announced in due course, but confirmed speakers include:
- Daru Widyatmoko, Aecom
- Joëlle De Visscher, BRRC
- Gordon Airey, NARC / Colas representative
