Bright SCIdea Challenge 2020 is fast approaching; so, if you are a university student with an idea for a scientific solution to a global problem, then why not consider putting together a team and entering this competition? Your team could be the winner of the £5,000 cash prize.
Bright SCIdea Challenge, now in its third year, is a national competition open to students in the UK and Republic of Ireland, allowing teams comprising 3-4 people to develop and showcase their entrepreneurial and business skills.
Registered teams will receive expert guidance and training on developing a business plan and how to pitch their ideas. There will also be a number of networking opportunities which will allow teams to raise their profiles amongst the commercial scientific community. Teams that are shortlisted will be invited to a grand final at SCI, London, to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges who are investors and industry experts.
So, if you are interested in entering; organise a multidisciplinary team of 3-4 people, ensure that your idea falls under one of SCI’s focus areas: Agri-food, Materials, Energy, Environment and Health & Wellbeing, enter the competition by the 22 November 2019 deadline and, following the business training, submit a business plan by 14 February 2020.
