UK businesses are today invited to apply for a share of up to £19 million funding from Innovate UK to commercialise business-led, cutting-edge or disruptive ideas or concepts, covering any technology and applying to any part of the economy.
The funding will be available to ‘game-changing innovative ideas that will lead to new products, processes or services ahead of the field in any sector of the economy’.
The Open Sector Competition Round Four is open for applications from 11 December 2017 to 28 February 2018, with funding considered for projects costing between £25,000–£1 million over a duration of 6–36 months.
Projects can focus on:
- Feasibility studies which may include market research
- Industrial research
- Experimental development depending on the challenge identified and proposed solution
UK-based businesses of any size are eligible to apply for funding, which covers projects carried out in the UK either independently or in collaboration. Projects can fit Innovate UK’s 4 priority areas of: emerging and enabling technologies, health and life sciences, infrastructure systems and manufacturing and materials, or be outside them For further details and information on how to apply, click here.
