Robert Horne Memorial Lecture

Established 1943

Viscount Horne of Slamannan was a staunch supporter of SCI for many years. A lecture was endowed in his name in 1943 by one of his industrial interests, the Imperial Smelting Corporation of which he was the first Chair.
Focusing on the materials sector, the lecture is traditionally given in either a Bristol or a South Wales venue in the UK.
