This award is just one example of collaboration between SCI Groups, and also illustrates a way in which exceptional individuals, those of long service to the Society and widely respected by their peers, are remembered by SCI today.

Award History

The lecture was established in 1977 to commemorate Hans Bolliger's popular leadership of SCI. Bolliger's 23-year career with the famous CIBA Group was focused on the research, development and production of dyestuffs. The products he developed and distributed helped to change the world of formation and finishing.

Nominations

Nominations for the Hans R Bolliger Memorial Lecture are made by members of the Liverpool and North West Group. The recipient is selected by the Liverpool and North West Regional Group Committee.

The Hans R Bolliger Memorial Lecture was originally a joint award of the then SCI Manchester Section and the SCI Health and Safety Group. The award is currently administered by SCI's Liverpool and North West Group and is presented at an event in the Manchester area, UK.
