Event Review: Connecting Academia with Industry - Regulation

07 January 2019

For those who missed this second part of the series of Connecting Academia and Industry - Regulation - held on Wednesday 14 Nov 2018 at BASF Australia Ltd, you missed the insights into how chemicals are regulated.
Dr Yvonne Mah, President of the Victorian Branch of the RACI

As more governance is built around regulation in Australia, it is important that we are aware of chemical regulation.
At the research level, how do you choose your starting chemicals to begin experiments to ensure sustainability? At the application level, how do you transport, store and use it, what else needs to be considered? What is the government doing with chemicals now?

All these areas were covered by the expert knowledge from our speakers, Fiona Fleming, Peter Vitali and Gary Bowman. Watch this space of regulation; do not under-estimate its power. There is a lot of activity which for most of us will be opportunities.

Thank you to Dr. Richard Thwaites, Chair of SCI Australia International group who helped to organize and co-ordinate the inaugural series event and to our speakers who gave their time to share their knowledge, expertise and experience.
