Introducing Liverpool and North West prize winner, Laura Barratt

21 November 2018

Laura won the Best second year student on the Natural Science degree course prize.

Laura started studying for a Natural Science degree with the Open University back in 2015; and is now coming into her 4th year of study.

Science was one of Laura’s favourite subjects at school and the one that she was naturally good at. Despite that, Laura pursued other subjects into A-Level and it’s always something she looks back on with regret - so here she is doing something about it!

Laura finds studying as well as working full-time, both rewarding and tiring. She is excited by the prospect of being able to change career once she has completed her degree.

Laura wants to do something where she feels she is helping people and making a difference in the world. Laura has done a mixture of chemistry and biology modules so far as she is interested in going into biochemical research or possibly forensic science.

Laura has a 7-year-old chocolate cockapoo called Harry and they enjoy going on long walks and exploring new places together.
