Formulation Forum Award

The Award recognises formulation innovations equally in both business and academia: The Innovation in Formulation and Formulation Science Award. The award acknowledges leading work where formulation innovation has delivered new solutions that lead and inspire the formulation community.

Award Information

Applications

Submissions are invited from scientists, both in academia and industry, for formulation science and formulation related developments which are considered worthy of the Formulation and Formulation Science award. The deadline for applications is Friday 15th December 2023.

Presentation Details

Finalists will present their formulation innovation (Poster and flash talk) at SCI Formulation Forum 5th Annual Event: design through characterisation and analysis on 23 – 24 January 2024 and winner(s) will be selected by the event participants.

    • Scientists, both in academia and industry
    • Work principally performed in the last 5 years
    • Teams or individuals worldwide can submit entries

Other SCI Awards

Research and Development for Society Award

This award is presented to an individual or a team for R&D (carried out in the last ten years) which provides a potentially major benefit to society in Yorkshire and the Humber. The technology should be at an early stage, and ready for commercialisation or implementation.

Science for Society Award

This award is presented to an individual for sustained, outstanding and influential contributions to the advancement of science education which provide a major benefit to society in Yorkshire & the Humber and beyond.

Process Chemistry Award

This Process Chemistry award recognises outstanding work carried out by a UK-based academic in the development of significant new synthetic methodology, process technology, or reaction understanding such that it has the potential to become useful for the manufacture of an active pharmaceutical ingredient or agrochemicals on scale.

Barrer Award

The Barrer Award recognises meritorious recent pure or applied work in the field of porous inorganic materials. It is a joint award of SCI and The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Liverpool and North West Regional Group Prizes

Each year, a series of 7 prizes are awarded to students at alternating universities in the Liverpool and North West region.
