Jade Poisson is a 2018 Canada Student Merit Award winner. She achieved this award for obtaining the highest standing of her class in the fourth and final year of her degree. Here is a brief biography of the winner.
Jade Poisson is a chemistry student currently pursuing a PhD in chemistry at the University of British Columbia after receiving her BSc in chemistry (co-op) at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). Her research interests include materials and inorganic chemistry. Her undergraduate research involved the preparation of transition metal electrochromic materials on enhanced nanosurfaces. Jade was awarded two NSERC scholarships during her undergraduate degree and was award several academic merit awards from UOIT throughout this time. Jade currently lives in Vancouver, BC.
