SCI preparing submission to Brexit science and innovation enquiry

19 January 2018

SCI is preparing a submission to the Science and Technology Committee enquiry on the Brexit science and innovation Summit, and we are inviting our members to submit their comments to help shape our response.

The committee has asked for evidence relating to the challenges to science and innovation in the UK after leaving the European Union (EU), with a focus on the actions needed to tackle these issues and what opportunities will be available to UK science post-Brexit. The evidence collected from submissions and discussions at the upcoming Summit will be presented by the committee to government at the start of phase two in Brexit negotiations.

Specifically, the committee is asking for comment on:

SCI has a unique strategic position within this debate, with members holding a wide range of scientific expertise spanning industrial scientists and academics. With our unique diversity, this enquiry provides a great opportunity for SCI to represent the perspectives of our members in relation to science and innovations post-Brexit.

What SCI would like from you

Framed by the suggested lines of enquiry from the Science and Technology committee, we have set up a short survey for you to fill out, which will help to shape SCI’s response to the enquiry. If you wish to contribute, please fill out this survey by 28th January 2018.
